Fighting for Rochdale, Littleborough and Milnrow
Although I spend most of my working week in London, I tend to do my shopping when I’m back in Rochdale. London can be all too busy and unfriendly at times so it’s always a relief to get off the train in Rochdale and see some friendly faces.
I will shortly be opening a new office in the town centre so people are likely to see me out and about fairly frequently. I especially like going to the market to get my fruit and veg from Geoff’s greengrocers and I buy batteries and the like from Martin’s electrical stall. I also bought my son’s christening outfit from Jenny’s children’s wear stall and the demands of campaigning mean I pop down there to get my shoes soled fairly regularly as well.
One of the things I want to see improve in Rochdale is our night time economy and I do my bit by having a quiet drink in The Baum pub, next to the Pioneers Museum and enjoying a curry whenever I get the chance at many places across town.
