Rochdale restaurant nominated for UK’s best South Asian restaurant

Rochdale’s favourite South Asian dining place has been named as Miah’s Restaurant after votes were cast across town.

Miah’s restaurant on Yorkshire Street will now go forward to the next round of the annual Tiffin Cup from which entries across the UK will be shortlisted. Those that make the final cut will take part in a MasterChef style cook-off event judged by MPs and guest celebrities with the proceeds going to charity.

Commenting on what he said was a fantastic response, Rochdale’s MP Simon Danczuk said:

“The response showed how many great restaurants we have in Rochdale and how passionately people feel about their favourites. Miah’s was a clear winner for Rochdale and I hope they’ll make it to the next round."

The Tiffin Cup is a national competition launched in 2006 by MPs Keith Vaz, Michael Fabricant and John Barrett.

Designed and built by Tangent Snowball. Hosted by Rackspace, 2 Longwalk Road, Stockley Park, Uxbridge, UB11 1BA.
