Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk went the distance when it came to supporting a very worthy cause.
Mr Danczuk raised more than £800 for Rochdale homelessness charity Petrus by completing the 2016 London Marathon with a time of 4 hours and 49 minutes.
Petrus provides residential and day support services for people in housing need throughout Rochdale Borough.
The cheque was presented to Mayor and Mayoress councillors Surinder and Cecile Biant.
Simon Danczuk said: “I have visited Petrus on a number of occasions and have seen first-hand all the excellent work their staff and volunteers do to tackle homelessness in our area.
“Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, rest assured your contribution will be put to good use helping vulnerable people in the community.
“A full marathon is almost enough to put me off running altogether but I am already looking forward to my next charity challenge.”
