MP delighted by Marks & Spencer vote of confidence

M&S

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk has taken the unusual step of approaching Marks & Spencer head office to seek assurances that the store remains committed to Rochdale.

Mr Danczuk said he had taken action in order to scotch the growing number of rumours circulating in the town that Marks & Spencer was intending to pull out of Rochdale.

“There’s been lots of rumours spread about the town and this is not going to inspire confidence in Rochdale,” he said.  “That’s why I took the step of speaking to head office in some detail to seek assurances that they remain committed to staying in Yorkshire Street. I’m pleased to announce that Marks & Spencer have given our town a full vote of confidence and are not planning to go anywhere.”
