Danczuk hopes England team can net big winnings for Rochdale charity‏

IMG_2889.JPGFootball fans in Rochdale now have an extra reason to cheer for England at Euro 2016, after Simon Danczuk backed the team in a charity bet with William Hill.

The MP punted for Roy Hodgson's men to make it all the way to the final of the tournament, with all winnings from the £40 bet going to Rochdale Samaritans.

The bet was placed during Mr Danczuk’s visit to the Rochdale branch of William Hill in Baillie Street, where he spoke with staff and learned more about the bookie's latest campaign to encourage responsible gambling.

Mr Danczuk said: “Call me hopelessly optimistic but I really think England can go all the way to the final on July 10.

“It’s all a bit of fun with the added bonus that I get to help Rochdale Samaritans who do such amazing work helping people in our town in their hour of need.”
