Casework in Rochdale constituency office - June 2016

This chart provides a breakdown of the varying types of case work dealt with by the team in Simon Danczuk’s constituency office in Rochdale.

In total, staff handled 60 significant new cases in June, dealing with everything from healthcare to highways.

Key points:

  • Last month, 7% of cases related to business in the constituency. Simon recently visited the new premises of Rochdale Mobility in Yorkshire Street. The MP heralded the opening as another positive step for the Rochdale’s high street saying “shops like this represent all the best things about small independent businesses”

  • The casework team dealt with new education cases in the last month. In Parliament, Simon contributed to an education debate - stressing the need for reform in Greater Manchester to help young people in Rochdale get better access to skills training.

  • Immigration accounted for 40% of new cases in June. Simon has frequently challenged the Government over the high number of asylum seekers in Rochdale and this week called on the leadership of the Labour Party to listen more carefully to voters’ concerns about immigration.
