International Cricket Festival for Rochdale

Simon Danczuk was delighted to be part of the International Cricket Festival that took Simon presenting the man of the match awardplace in Rochdale from Saturday 19th to Monday 21st July. Organised by Surinder Biant and Sports For All (SFA – a local community group) the Festival saw the Kenyan Cricket team playing against a SFA Select XI.

Simon said: “I was delighted to see the company I am involved in – Vision Twentyone – co-sponsor the event and I was even more delighted to award the man of the match trophy to Steve Tikolo, it was a great privilege. He is a superstar from that part of the world and of course those keen on cricket remember how Steve Tikolo led the Kenyan national side to the semi finals of the 2003 cricket World Cup. I have to say a true gentleman off the field too."

Simon continued: “This Festival really brought people together, the turn out from people from all the different communities across Rochdale on the Sunday really created a great sense of unity – everyone appeared to have a really good time. Those organising the event did an excellent job and Surinder, who came up with the idea and used his contacts to make it happen is a real star.”
