The Bangladeshi Community in Rochdale play an extremely positive role in the local area. Since moving to the area, the community have formed a number of different organisations many of which are aimed at increasing the aspirations and achievements of the Bangladeshi Community in Rochdale including:

Simon Danczuk visited Sylhet and Dhaka in Bangladesh in February 2010 as part of a Labour Friends of Bangladesh delegation. During the visit he met a wide variety of senior politicians and local residents and business people in the Sylhet district. Simon is committed to campaigning on issues important to the British Bangladeshi community and to improving relations between the UK and Bangladesh.
