Community leaders share their views with Jack Straw

Jack Straw audienceCommunity leaders from across Milkstone and Deeplish gathered at Castlemere Community Centre recently to tell Jack Straw, a senior Government Minister, what they thought of our Labour Government’s performance and quiz him about various policies.

Over 20 community leaders were brought together by Ghulam Shazhad to meet with Jack and there was much straight talking about a number of issues. These ranged from terrorism, immigration and the Iraq war, through to profiling, health, crime and the economy.

Simon Danczuk said: “It was important Jack came and listened to how people feel. He represents a constituency that in some ways is similar to Rochdale but he still needs to hear what Rochdale people think about the issues we discussed. He can then feed their concerns back into Government. I know for a fact he’s already written to the Home Secretary about one of the key issues that was raised. Jack Straw top table
